First Edition Identifiers
This title had the largest print-run of all the Edgar Rice Burroughs books. There were two printings for a total of 77,000 books making this book a very easy to find first edition. “A.C. McClurg” is printed on the spine and title page. The dust jacket and frontispiece use the same illustration. Additionally J. Allen St. John illustrated 8 other interior black-and-white plates.
The reprint edition is identical to the first printing other than it has “1921” printed on the title page, and the cover cloth is a brighter green.
