First Edition Identifiers
Metropolitan Books, Inc. only published this title once, in 1929, so every book of this title with “Metropolitan” on the spine is a first edition. However, “Grosset & Dunlap” purchased excess copies from Metropolitan and published this title in 1931. The 1931 printing has “Metropolitan” on the title page and “Grosset & Dunlap” on the spine. Also, the cover of the G&D printing is red rather than the orange color of the first edition. There is just one illustration, the frontispiece, by A.W. Sperry.
