First Edition Identifiers
Metropolitan Books, Inc. only published this title once, on Nov. 28, 1930, so every book of this title with “Metropolitan” on the spine is a first edition. However, “Grosset & Dunlap” purchased excess copies from “Metropolitan” and published this title in 1932. The 1932 printing has “Metropolitan” on the title page and “Grosset & Dunlap” on the spine. Also, the cover of the G&D printing is red rather than the olive green color of the first edition. There is just one illustration, the frontispiece, by J. Allen St. John.
