First Edition Identifiers
This first edition was printed in 1931 and was the first Tarzan novel that Edgar Rice Burroughs' own publishing company, “Burroughs, Inc.”, published. Almost all of the first editions from Burroughs, Inc. were published with blue cloth and red lettering, this title being no exception. Burroughs, Inc. reprinted the Tarzan titles again in 1948. The 1948 printings have tan covers with blue lettering. There is only one illustration, the frontispiece, which was done by Studley Burroughs, Edgar's nephew.

Dust jacket is a Mint condition first edition which was a Burroughs Inc. extra and purchased separate from the book.
