First Edition Identifiers

The Efficiency Expert

Above is the 1966 “House of Greystoke” edition.

This title first appeared commercially in print as a large 6 7/8” wide by 9 7/8” tall phamplet. The paper covers and pages are held together with two staples. “House of Greystoke” published the phamplet in 1966. The words “First Authorized Edition” appear on the copyright page. “Charter Press” published a standard size paperback version of this title in 1979.

In the summer of 2000 Amereon House published the first hard back edition ever of this title. Unusual for a recent printing is that it lacks a publishing date. There were two separate printings of 80 copies each making this the second smallest print-run of any Edgar Rice Burroughs novel. The boards of the first state are either a dark gray or blue and there is gold lettering on the front and spine. The second state has a purple cover and also has gold lettering but the font size and design is different, otherwise the interior is identical.

The book was issued without a dust jacket though Bruce Wood (see ERB Links for his web page) designed one and made it available for purchase when the book was published. There are no interior illustrations.

The book below is of the 2000 Ameron House First Edition, first state.
