This book was first published on Oct. 15, 1946 and it states “First Edition” on the copyright page. This book came bound in either a smooth blue cloth or textured blue cloth. It has not been established if they were printed at the same time or at separate print-runs. There is a red top-stain as was typical for almost all of the Burroughs' publications. John Coleman Burroughs illustrated the dust jacket and 5 interior drawings.
