First Edition Identifiers
Burroughs, Inc. published this book on Mar. 15, 1940 and again later in 1948. The first edition has the standard Burroughs' blue pebbled cloth with red lettering and the spine bears their name at the bottom. The words “first edition” can be found on the title page. The dust jacket and five interior drawings are by John Coleman Burroughs. The dust jacket came either laminated or unlaminated.
The 1948 Burroughs reprint is tan in color with dark brown lettering.
