The Tarzan Twins
FIRST EDITION IDENTIFIERS:

The publisher is "P.F. Volland". There is no lettering on the spine. Volland printed seven editions between 1927 and 1932. Each edition is clearly marked on the copyright page. The first printing included a dust jacket which was illustrated by Douglas Grant. There are 6 interior color illustrations and 36 black & white illustrations, all by Douglas Grant. The second edition did not have a dust jacket, but instead came with in a protective box which used the illustration from the dust jacket as it's cover picture.

Edgar Rice Burroughs wrote this book specifically for younger children and is about the adventures of two 14 year old boys. It includes many colored illustrations. A sequel was published later entitled "Tarzan and the Tarzan Twins with Jad-bal-ja the Golden Lion" and is about the same two boys.

The photo of the book below is a "First Edition" as shown in the photo on the right. Note: Scroll to bottom to view 1963 Canaveral Press edition.

In 1963 Canaveral Press published a book called "Tarzan and the Tarzan Twins" which includes both stories. Some consider the Canaveral Press publication to be a first edition but as the other two stories appeared previously in hardback, the Canaveral Press would rightly be considered a "First thus" edition. (see photos at bottom of page).
